In 2005, the firm’s attorneys and paralegal staff logged 11,174 hours of pro bono, which represented 5% of its total billable hours logged during the year, and approximately $3.1 million in legal fees. In total, 75% of associates and 70% of partners devoted their time to pro bono matters.
For the last six years, Farella has been a signatory of the Pro Bono Challenge, an initiative involving law firms nationwide who have made an affirmative commitment to bill at least three percent of their total billings to pro bono matters. Nearly every year, the firm has met or exceeded its commitment to the program.
