A MESSAGE FROM THE FIRM CHAIR

Welcome to Farella Braun + Martel.

Thank you for considering Farella Braun + Martel for your legal career.  I encourage you to look through our site to see why we think our firm is such a unique and special place to practice law. 

I joined the firm as a summer associate in 1981, and returned as a litigation associate after graduating from Stanford Law School.  I chose Farella Braun + Martel for its creative approach to litigation and transactional matters, and have been rewarded with unique and challenging cases, early responsibility from the beginning of my career, and interesting clients.  I also chose FBM for the people who have become more than just colleagues, but friends as well. 

Through the years, I have seen the firm grow in its size and practice, and I have served in a number of capacities, as the Hiring Partner, the Chair of our Litigation Department, a member of our Executive Committee and presently as the Firm Chair.  While Farella Braun + Martel has grown to meet the changing needs of our clients and the legal market, it has retained the important attributes which drew me here:  the high quality of legal work and client service; the early responsibility and experiences for associates; the formal and informal training and mentoring that promote professional development and advancement; and the welcoming, supportive environment in which colleagues build lifelong friendships.
