Charles Sink Inducted As American College of Construction Lawyers Fellow

SAN FRANCISCO, Mar. 11, 2008 - Farella Braun + Martel Partner Charles M. Sink has been inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers (ACCL), a professional forum for exploration and analysis of complex legal and industry issues nationally and internationally.

Founded in 1990, the ACCL is one of the premier legal associations in America, and it is comprised of the top one percent of the U.S. construction bar, as well as lawyers and judges from Canada, Britain and France.  Fellowship is extended by invitation to lawyers and judges who have mastered the practice or the teaching of construction law and dispute resolution pertaining to the built environment and those whose professional careers exhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.

Currently a partner in the firm's Construction Practice Group and a former chair of its Complex Litigation Department, Sink has more than 30 years of commercial litigation experience, focused on construction or energy claims and insurance-related issues.  His clients include private owners, public entities, architects, engineers and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors.  Sink's claims experience covers public and private infrastructure, including power plants, transmission lines, treatment plants, bridges and roads, commercial buildings, housing, government centers, hospitals and airport facilities.  He also has handled project management contracts, design-build agreements, EPC contracts, purchase orders and owner-contractor professional service agreements for commercial and industrial projects, as well as condominiums, wineries and houses.      

A frequent author on various construction law topics, Sink also serves as the editor of The Construction Lawyer, the quarterly publication of the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry.  He has been recognized as one of the leading construction attorneys in California by Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers.  Sink received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law (1977), Order of the Coif, and his B.A., cum laude, from Harvard University (1973).
